Julius Clar

Julius Clar

Julius S. Clar, originally from rural Philippines, shaped his artistic journey in Manila during his college years. His background in photography and print media design influenced his evolution as an artist, particularly in collage and mixed media art. Clar’s work beautifully marries his provincial upbringing with minimalist ideals from the 1960s, resulting in spare and contemplative artworks that blend rural temperament with minimalist concepts. His compositions often feature empty spaces that play a pivotal role in supporting the primary color motifs, creating intricate tapestries within his paintings.

Julius Clar’s art has transcended borders, with collectors around the world appreciating his work in countries like the United States, Canada, Brunei, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore. His creations have found homes in prestigious venues such as the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Silver Lens Gallery, Art Center Mega Mall, Ayala Museum, Lopez Memorial Museum, and other significant locations within the global art community.
